Dr. Rabie’e bin Kayid Al-Rashdi

Rabie’e bin Kayid Al-Rashdi, (Post PhD SML, PhD, MScN, PG Diploma A/E & ICU, RN). – Graduated as a general nurse from UK (Edinburgh) in 1987 and then joined the Sultan Qaboos Military Academy from which graduated as an Officer end of 1988. After this, worked as a General Nurse in various military hospitals and then went to back to UK in 1992 to undertake PG Diploma in Accident and Emergency and Intensive Care. Later obtained (nursing) Master Degree from Napier University, Edinburgh and PhD from the same University with a focus on human resources development and management. After the PhD undertook PG Diploma (post doctorate) in Strategic Management and Leadership at Oxford Business College, UK.

Whilst in the military did several military & healthcare-related courses; and held several clinical, administrative and academic leadership and nursing management posts, such as: Nursing Officer In-Charge of Accident & Emergency Department (Armed Forces Hospital -AFH), Nursing Staff Officer (HQ AFMS), and finally the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and Dean of Armed Forces Medical Services School.

After retiring from the military in 2015 worked (until June 2021) in the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) as the Planning and Development Expert + Deputy CEO (Director General) for Administration and Finance

Currently an External Review Director (ERD) with the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA); OQF External Reviewer (Oman); and a healthcare quality Surveyor with Accreditation Canada; Academic Supervisor of Master students with Royal College Surgeon -RCSI (Ireland); visiting lecturer at reputed national universities in Oman; and a freelance Consultant in Healthcare and Higher Education, as well as ISO 9001 (QMS) Lead Auditor + External [quality] Reviewer in several international Healthcare and Higher Education Institutions, such as: Bahrain Quality Authority (BQA-Bahrain); INQAAHE; Latvia Quality Agency for Higher Education.

Has conducted various research and presented in various local & international seminars & conferences, and has written various articles pertaining to nursing, healthcare, strategic management; quality and academia.

A member of various professional bodies such as the Oman Nursing & Midwifery Nursing Association (ONA); the United Kingdom Nursing & Midwifery Council; International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE); and the Oman Association for Quality in Higher Education (OAQHE).
